A Word from the Pastor

►APRIL 19, 2009

Praise the Lord! It is such a blessing for us all to be here on this Lord's Day. It is my prayer that we one be obedient to the claims of Christ upon each of our lives today. It is the only source of true blessings that will not fade way by sands of time. We often sing the words in this song "trust and obey, for there's no other way, to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey." I hope you believe that and are living that truth out. Sometimes we fail to understand that not only can a person tell a lie and live a lie, but we can sing a lie also. Maybe things would come from our heart than our head if we gave pause to this truth.
I think that for myself, last week, had to be one of the better Resurrection Sundays that I have been a part of in a while. The whole weekend was very refreshing. It was a real hoot watching the kids searching for eggs here at the church on Saturday (who says you have nothing to do here, you were welcome to come and help). That evening....

Praise the Lord! I am so delighted to be here in worship with each one of you on "Resurrection Sunday!" Today we have reason to rejoice and praise a living Saviour. Allow God to speak to you today through the song and message. If you have not yet trusted Christ and asked Him to come dwell in your heart and life I want to encourage you not to put it off any longer.
I want to remind all those who are here today (Sunday 12) that we have age graded Bible studies for the whole family every Sunday morning. Are you a part of a Bible Study anywhere? We would love to have you be part of a wonderful time of study and prayer each Sunday Morning at 9:45 a.m. I have no knowledge of any class that would call on anyone to read aloud if a student is not comfortable with doing so. Nor, will you be pointed out individually to answer a question. At the same time let me add that if you chose to be involved actively in the study there is ample opportunity for you to do so.
I want to encourage everyone to go to our "Home Page" on the website. You can now sign up for VBS online! The date is June 14th-19th. There is no hassle or fuss whatsoever. That is workers, helpers, and participants! This would really help our church family as we try to project our attendance that we can at least plan for. We also need two more adults to help with nursery and the 2-3 years old. Would you pray about serving this year.
Our Wilson County Baptist Association will be holding a day camp for Children June 8th-11th. h cost will be $10. We had very outstanding attendance last year. Children were taught about Jesus and missions. Several students in our own youth group took days on as a mission project and served so faithfully. I know that a lost of children's lives were changed forever because of it.
Church, let's stay on track with the mission at hand. There are so many people who need the Lord! He can give them the answers they have been seeking for so long. There is still an un-evangelized world that needs to hear about the transforming message of Jesus.
There are many important opportunities to worship and serve on the calender inside. Don't forget that Kevin Rice will be here April 25th & 26th. (www.kevinricemusic.com) Check it out! You will not want to miss it.
On July 26th-29th we will host First Century Ministries (www.firstcenturyministries.org) here at RLBC. I will be telling you more about this exciting opportunity a little later. Let me say this about it though... you will be able to say that you haven't seen nothing like it!
